1st wedding of the season!

It's been a great weekend to kick off summer 2008!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Lisa and Jason's wedding at the Popponesset Inn. What a beautiful couple and so much fun to be around. I had a wonderful time at their wedding and was thrilled to work with my new assistant Sherri who was a huge help.

On my way over to Lisa's rental house where she was getting ready the rain started to come, and there was some spitting from above during formals at the house, but by the time we arrived at the Popponesset Inn, the sun was shining and there was a beautiful rainbow...Now that's gotta be good luck on your wedding day!

Good luck and best wishes, Lisa and Jason!

The gorgeous and happy bride. Look at her grin from ear to ear.

The equally handsome groom.

A funny moment during the ceremony. I think the nerves got to Lisa and she just couldn't get the words out of her mouth. I love the looks on their faces!

Lisa's girlfriends are clearly very important to her - so important that she couldn't just pick one as her MOH.

Jason isn't a big fan of the beach, but he was willing to sit in the sand with his beautiful bride for some great shots! Thanks Jason!

What a gorgeous couple! Thanks Lisa and Jason - you guys are adorable!

My kiddos

I just couldn't resist posting some shots of my kids I took yesterday. We were outside playing and waiting for Quinn to get home from school and I wanted to test out a lense that I'll be using at Lisa and Jason's wedding this weekend that I had borrowed from Borrow Lenses (www.borrowlenses.com). Sweet! I gotta get myself one of these! And the kids are pretty darn cute too!

My sweet boy... I love the red tree in the background!

Here's another of Jack. Those little yellow flowers all over my lawn (aka: weeds) that I have wanted to weed kill away actually look kind of cool in this photo!

Quinn's home!

More beautiful weeds

And speaking of beautiful...Lainey with her thumb and blanky.

Is that my little sweet boy trying to run me over?! Devil!

Fun on the tractor.

And speaking of the tractor...here are some more pics taken Mother's Day weekend. Jack just LOVES moving the lawn with his Dad (no, that was not a typo, he calls it "moving" instead of "mowing").

They also all love music. Quinn is looking forward to playing the electric guitar his Dad just bought him (it arrives next week) and Jack wants to be a drummer. Looks like Lainey wants to be the singer of the group.

More cuties in the studio...

Yesterday I shot A. and J. in the studio. A client last week mentioned how she didn't think her sons even look like neighbors (see below). If that is the case, then these two brothers don't look like they even live in the same state! How different they are!

See for yourself...

Here's A.

And here's his little brother, J.

A nice moment with Mommy and J.

Sorry for the short post, but it's late, I have a killer headache and I've been so busy that I haven't had time! I have my first wedding of the season on Saturday and I hope to post some images from that and some of my kids early on next week. Have a great and safe holiday weekend (and pray for nice weather)!

On-location in Falmouth

Today I made some new friends at Sea Stars Preschool. Some were a little apprehensive to sit for a picture, but I think I got at least one smile from all 13 of them. And boy were they cute! By the end of my stay they all wanted to come grocery shopping with me! One little boy went as far as getting his coat and backpack on as I was leaving.

Here's my favorite from the group session. Please note that all the children are looking but one - that's my boy! Jack was far more interested in the tractor mowing the lawn across the street than anything I had to say!

He's one!

Yesterday I traveled down to Osterville to photograph N. and L. N. turned one not long ago and L. is my friend who I have photographed on a number of occasions (he calls me Auntie Kate! - hee, hee). It was a gorgeous day yesterday, the sun was shining bright. A perfect day for pictures, right? Well, one would think so...but at 12:30pm the sun is so high in the sky that the shadows are wicked and the kids are all squinty. Finding a shady spot when the leaves haven't quite developed yet was tough, and getting a 2.5 year old to stay in one shady spot was even tougher! Although I did capture some goodies outside of the boys, my favorites were taken inside using the natural window light.

Here are a few...

Birthday boy. Just look at those eyes!

Even though L. and I are friends and I am his Auntie Kate, he was a little reluctant to have his picture taken by me at first (although his mom swears he doesn't let anyone take his picture). After getting comfortable with me I got some great smiles (or maybe it was a sugar rush from all the Smarties I gave him!). Too cute!

Loving brothers. Do you think they look alike? His mom says they don't even look like they could be neighbors! And shucks, maybe those Smarties weren't a good idea after all!

My 1st pregnancy!

No, clearly not my own first pregnancy! Yesterday I was thrilled to photograph my first pre-natal photo shoot here in the studio. Mrs. M couldn't have been a better model, open to doing anything I asked of her, had the cutest little 28 week old belly and was gorgeous to top it off!

Thank you Mrs. M for being such a great model and so patient with me as I tried out some new things. Here are some images from the shoot. There were so many lovely images of her face too, but I promised not to post those..

Love

Is it a boy or a girl?

And baby makes 3...

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting little Mr. JP! I had the pleasure of meeting his parents the day they got engaged. Actually, I was there to photograph them as Pat proposed...

One day I received a call from Pat asking me to photograph him and his girlfriend. To be honest, I wasn't that interested in taking the job as he wanted me to come to Boston (and I wasn't sure I wanted to dedicate the 3-4 hours away from my kids). But after talking to him for a bit, he admitted I wasn't going to be there just to photograph them, but he was planning on proposing to Meghan and wanted me to capture it on film. I nearly cried and I was so happy and honored that I wouldn't have missed it for the world (whether here on Cape, in Boston, or in Timbuktu). It was all planned for a perfect Saturday in Boston...Of course torrential downpours were also planned for that day. So, it was rescheduled and Pat and Meghan met me at Bourne Farm on a lovely fall afternoon.

As Pat and Meghan posed for a picture, I asked Pat to whisper in her ear (his idea). He leaned in, whispered and she giggled. Then with her hand on her chest and her mouth open wide, she looked at him with great surprise. It was hard to hold my camera steady as I cried, knowing what had just happened. Pat got on one knee, Meghan said "yes" (or maybe she said, "are you serious?!").

Months later as wedding plans were in progress they asked me to photograph their wedding. It was again a great honor and a pleasure! It was a gorgeous September day and such a lovely event at Oyster Harbors (and Pat was not nearly as nervous in front of the camera). Meghan glowed and was probably the most relaxed bride I've ever photographed.

Here is Meghan and Pat's son. A happy little boy that looks like his Dad!

After lots of smiles and posing for the camera, JP was sleepy (modeling is hard work). He fell asleep for a few minutes towards the end of our session and I was able to capture some really cute pictures of him along with his first golf club. I hope he loves to golf as much as his dad (who couldn't come to the session as he was on the links)!

It was great to meet JP and see Meghan again. She looks amazing - you'd never know she gave birth a mere 6 weeks ago! Happy Mother's Day, Meghan!
